Rainbow Rescue Sponsorship, Carnival 2K7

carnival-2007

Trinidad and Tobago Mortgage Finance Company Limited (TTMF) sponsored 8 residents of Rainbow Rescue, a home for socially displaced boys, to participate in Carnival 2K7 with Carnival Players Children’s Band. This year’s presentation “Come Let’s Dance” was produced by Band Leader, Dune Ali.

Judy Wilson, CEO and programme co-ordinator of Rainbow Rescue, shared the children’s enthusiasm and excitement in being able to participate in this activity that has become part of school life for their peers. Said Wilson, "The participants were selected based on exemplary behaviour and discipline. In essence, it was a reward for good work."

Manager, Marketing and Public Relations, Marlene K. Chin revealed the philosophy behind TTMF’s annual sponsorship. Chin indicated that culturally grounded interventions, like Carnival, will allow children to express themselves and to articulate their feelings. She further indicated that the art form has proven that successful avenues of psychosocial care are becoming increasingly important aspects of humanitarian action.
